Heyo! Greetings from Philadelphia (actually about 20 minutes SW of Philly) but anywho I just returned from a whirlwind tour of the west coast. It was my first time west of Colorado and after this trip it certainly wont be my last! I went to San Francisco and some other places with my dad to visit some family and friends. During the busy long-weekend trip I managed to see and do a fair amount in the San Francisco and surrounding area. To list a few, and by a few I mean many… walked up Coit Tower; road a cable car; saw fisherman’s wharf and barked at the sea lions; and road across the golden gate bridge while the sun was setting; went to a concert at the Great American Music Hall (the band was okay); saw china town and the infamous Haight street; we tried to find the house from Full House but were unsuccessful… let’s see what else did we do? Went wine tasting, saw a fellow Bates Bobcat, saw the pacific ocean, saw a red wood; and finished the trip off at my aunt and uncle’s lake house wakeboarding and sharing stories and memories into the late hours of the night… needless to say I’m a little wiped out (I slept for close to 13 hours last night)
Other than San Fran my summer has been pretty packed so far! Starting with skydiving with co-coordinator Ellie and other Batesies- it was my third time and probably my favorite- i'm addicted. Then coming home to doing work on the farm- I live on an old family farm. We had around ¾ of a mile driveway paved and I had to do most of the prep work for that… let’s just say I moved about 120 cubic yards of dirt around in a bobcat (YEAH BOBCATS). It was a lot of dirt.
Oh! We (my family) held our 9th capture the flag, pig roast, nighttime bonfire and other activities EXTRAVAGANZA over a week ago. It was pretty epic. We had our biggest crowd yet with people coming from all over (some fellow bates people included).
That’s about it so far from my side, I’m sure I’ll have many updates to come with my summer adventures! I cant wait to meet all of you in the fall! I have such a good feeling about this year’s AESOP.
